Whether we installed your system or someone else did — we’re here to help. Find out what’s covered, what to expect, and how to get your system back to full production.
REQUEST SERVICE NOWNo matter which category you fall into, the process is simple. Tell us what’s going on, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Fill out the service form below with your system details and describe the issue.

Our team reviews your request and may run remote diagnostics before scheduling a visit.

A licensed Pell Solar technician comes to your home, diagnoses the issue, and gets it resolved.

Your system is verified, monitoring is confirmed, and you’re generating clean energy again.
Welcome to the Pell Solar family. As a recently installed customer, you have the strongest coverage available. Here’s what’s protecting your investment right now:
20-Year Workmanship Warranty (Parts + Labor): If an issue is caused by our installation — wiring, connections, mounting, electrical work — we cover the parts and labor to fix it at no cost to you for 20 years. This is our warranty and our labor.
4-Year Roof Penetration Warranty: We warrant the integrity of your roof within 8 inches of each penetration point for 4 years from install date.
Lease Customers: If you have a solar + battery lease, you’re covered bumper-to-bumper for 25 years — parts and labor, everything. If you have a battery-only lease, you’re covered bumper-to-bumper for 12 years with a 2-year extended warranty on the battery. Lease customers do not pay for service calls. Coverage is subject to the terms of your lease agreement.
Purchased systems — equipment labor is not our warranty, it’s the manufacturer’s. When a piece of equipment fails on its own (not due to our installation), labor coverage is determined by the manufacturer’s warranty. Some manufacturers cover labor, some don’t, and some only cover it for a limited time. Once their labor coverage expires, the homeowner is responsible for labor costs even if the replacement part is still free under warranty. See the full coverage table and equipment warranty details below.
Bottom line: If we installed it wrong, we fix it free for 20 years. If you have a lease, you’re fully covered. If you purchased your system and a product fails on its own after the manufacturer’s labor warranty expires, the replacement part may be free but you’ll pay our service rate ($450 + $75/hr) for the labor. We’ll always tell you what’s covered before we schedule anything.
You’re a long-time member of the Pell Solar family, and we still have your back.
20-Year Workmanship Warranty (Parts + Labor): If a problem is caused by our installation, we cover the labor to fix it — for the full 20 years. This is our warranty on our work.
Roof penetration warranty covers the first 4 years only. Past that window, roof-related issues are no longer covered.
Lease Customers: If you have a solar + battery lease, you’re still covered bumper-to-bumper for 25 years. Battery-only lease covers everything for 12 years. Lease customers do not pay for service calls. Coverage is subject to the terms of your lease agreement.
Purchased systems — equipment labor is the manufacturer’s responsibility, not ours. If a product fails on its own, the manufacturer’s warranty determines whether labor is covered. Once their labor warranty expires, the homeowner pays our service rate for the labor — even if the replacement part is still free. See the coverage table and equipment details below for each product’s specific labor terms.
We know your system better than anyone — we built it. Even when a service charge applies, you’re getting the same crew that originally installed your system.
Maybe your original installer went out of business. Maybe they aren’t returning your calls. Whatever the reason — we can help.
Site visit and diagnosis: We send a licensed technician to inspect the system, identify the issue, and assess overall condition.
Repair estimate provided: After diagnosis, we’ll give you a clear estimate. In some cases we may need to follow up with parts pricing.
No workmanship warranty applies. We did not install your system, so our 20-year workmanship warranty does not cover your installation. Our service rate ($450 + $75/hr) applies for all visits and labor.
Your equipment manufacturer warranties may still apply even if your original installer is gone. The manufacturer’s warranty follows the product, not the installer. If your equipment is still under the manufacturer’s parts warranty, the replacement part may be free — but you will still pay our service rate for the labor to diagnose and swap it. We’ll handle the manufacturer claim process on your behalf.
What we can do: Diagnose and repair any solar system, replace failed inverters or panels, fix wiring and electrical issues, add batteries to existing systems, and navigate manufacturer warranty claims on your behalf.
No problem. Fill out a service request and we’ll figure it out. We’ll check your warranty status and let you know what’s covered before scheduling anything.
Getting a new roof? Your solar panels need to come off first. This is one of the most common service requests we get — and we’ve streamlined the process to make it as painless as possible.
What Pell Solar does: We safely remove your entire solar panel system — panels, racking, wiring, and all hardware. Once your roofer completes the new roof, we come back and reinstall everything to code with brand-new penetrations and flashing. We never reuse old penetration points — every re-roof gets fresh, watertight mounts on the new roofing material. We reconnect, test, and verify your system is producing again.
Fresh penetrations every time: This is standard on every Pell Solar re-roof reinstall. Old lag bolts and flashing are removed with the panels. When we reinstall, we drill new penetrations into the new roof with new IronRidge FlashFoot2 mounts, new flashing, and new sealant — giving you the same waterproof protection as a brand-new installation.
What we don’t do: We do not perform roofing work (underlayment, shingles, tile, etc.). You’ll need a licensed roofing contractor for the roof itself.
Need a roofing contractor? No problem — we work with trusted roofing contractors and can provide referrals. Just let us know when you call and we’ll connect you with roofers we’ve worked with before.
Pricing: Panel removal and reinstallation pricing varies based on system size, number of panels, roof type, and accessibility. Call us for a custom quote — we’ll walk you through the process and coordinate timing with your roofer.

How labor coverage works: Pell Solar’s 20-year workmanship warranty covers labor on anything related to our installation. For purchased equipment, the manufacturer’s warranty determines whether labor is included — some cover it, some don’t, and some only cover it for a limited time. When the manufacturer’s labor warranty has expired, the homeowner pays our service rate ($450 + $75/hr) for the labor even though the replacement part may be free. Lease customers are fully covered — see below for details on each product.

Answers to the questions we hear most often.
Some production decrease is normal — panels degrade about 0.25–0.5% per year. But a sudden drop usually indicates a failed microinverter, tripped breaker, shading, or monitoring issue. Submit a service request and we’ll diagnose it.
Absolutely. We service all major brands regardless of who installed. Manufacturer warranties follow the product, not the installer. We’ll file claims and get your system working. Standard service rates apply.
A licensed technician travels to your home, performs a full inspection, runs diagnostics, and identifies the issue. Additional work billed at $75/hour. Parts billed separately if not under warranty. If covered under our workmanship warranty, there is no charge.
Enphase covers the replacement unit for 25 years. However, labor is only reimbursed for the first 2 years ($200 truck roll + $25/unit). After that, our service rates apply. We handle the entire claim process.
Yes. Tesla covers parts and labor for the full 10-year warranty. Must stay connected to the internet — without it, coverage may drop to 4 years. As a Tesla Certified Installer, we perform all warranty service.
If Pell Solar installed your system and you’re within 4 years, leaks within 8 inches of our penetration points are covered. Beyond that zone or after 4 years, contact your roofer or homeowner’s insurance.
Yes — fully. If you have a solar + battery lease, you’re covered bumper-to-bumper for 25 years. Parts, labor, everything. If you have a battery-only lease, you’re covered for 12 years with a 2-year extended warranty on the battery. Lease customers do not pay for service calls. Coverage is subject to the terms of your lease agreement.
