Tesla Certified Installer
Powerwall stores solar energy to provide backup power during grid outages, ensuring your home stays powered around the clock. It supports Tesla’s mission to make clean energy accessible by offering whole-home backup and energy independence through solar power, potentially lowering your utility bills. Once installed, you can manage and monitor Powerwall through the Tesla app to tailor its performance to your energy needs. The Powerwall 3 is a more advanced system that offers increased power capacity and easy expansion options, featuring an integrated solar inverter for efficient connection to solar panels. It can be added to existing solar setups or installed as a standalone unit, just like Powerwall 2.
Why Powerwall
Powerwall is a rechargeable home battery that boosts your home’s energy independence by providing seamless backup power and reducing your carbon footprint. It can be charged with solar energy to ensure you always have power on demand and might even help cut your electricity bills. The latest Powerwall 3 offers more power to meet your current and future needs. It includes features like Storm Watch, which uses weather data to manage charging before severe weather, and sends notifications if there’s a status change. At night, Powerwall uses stored solar energy to power your home, and if your utility has Time-of-Use rates, you can use stored energy to save on electricity costs. Each Powerwall system also comes with energy monitoring so you can track your energy production and usage in real time.
How Powerwall Works
Powerwall stores energy for later use and integrates with solar systems to enhance energy security and provide financial benefits. Each Powerwall unit comes with energy monitoring, metering, and smart controls, all manageable via the Tesla app. The system adapts to your energy usage over time and receives over-the-air updates to improve its features. During the day, solar panels power your home and charge Powerwall with excess energy. This stored energy is then available when solar production drops at night or during a power outage. If the grid goes down, Powerwall will alert you through the Tesla app. Each day, as the sun returns, solar panels recharge Powerwall, ensuring a continuous cycle of clean, renewable energy.
Home Backup With Powerwall
Powerwall stores solar energy for use at night and during power outages. The extent of backup power it provides depends on factors like the number of Powerwalls, your home’s energy use, and the appliances you have. Powerwall can support both 120V loads (like lights and small appliances) and 240V heavy loads (such as air conditioners and electric dryers). You can choose between whole home backup, which powers everything in your house, or partial home backup, which only powers selected essential loads. When the grid is up, all your appliances are usable and monitored; when it’s down, only the essential loads you select will be active.
